RENTERS
INSURANCE

Whether you own or rent, home is your safe place

No matter if you rent an apartment, condo or house, you need to protect yourself and your belongings from the unexpected.

Your landlord may have insurance that protects the structure of the building you live in, but the policy doesn’t cover your personal property. We can help you get the coverage you need.

PERSONAL POSSESSIONS

This part of your renter’s insurance covers your personal belongings like clothing, electronics and more if they’re stolen, damaged or even completely ruined after a covered incident.

PERSONAL LIABILITY

This coverage applies to injuries a guest may suffer inside your rented home, as well as help provide coverage for legal costs. This coverage can vary, so it’s important to talk to our experienced agents, so you know how you’re covered.

ADDITIONAL LIVING EXPENSES

If your rented home, condo or apartment is damaged by events like a burst pipe or smoke from a fire, this part of your policy will help pay for additional living expenses while your home is uninhabitable. Policies come with coverage limits, so it’s best to talk with our agents to understand how you may be impacted.

Protect your property inside your apartment with Renters insurance

Our agents will help you understand if it’s worth “scheduling” any valuables your own, such as a currency collection.

SCHEDULED PERSONAL PROPERTY

To protect what matters to you, you may also want to consider a "scheduled personal property" option. Many renters policies come with coverage limits. For example: Your wedding ring may be valued at $6,000, but the "non-scheduled" personal property coverage limit may be $3,000.

They call it "scheduled" because you work with an insurance carrier to determine the value of the personal property; basically you "schedule" its value. Typically, this valuable property is not fully covered, or not covered at all, under personal possession coverage. It could be a rare collection, fine arts or sculptures, a wedding ring, rare books, etc. Typically, an insurance carrier will want a receipt of your purchase or an appraisal of the collection or item.
