As the leaves start changing color and the weather starts cooling down, it can only mean one thing; fall is here. When we think of fall, pumpkins, sweaters and corn mazes all come to mind. And with so many activities and so little time, it’s easy to forget that fall is a time to be thankful. With the holidays approaching, there is no better time than now to start getting into the holiday spirit!

So, to get your fall frenzy spirit started, we came up with our favorite fall activities that are not only fun, but fulfilling as well. Incorporating random acts of kindness in with all the autumn traditions gives us the perfect “fall into giving” bucket list. It’s perfect for the whole family and sure to give you that warm positive feeling inside that hot apple cider just can’t deliver.

Rake Leaves for a neighbor

Some people have more trouble with yard work than others. Whether it is due to age or a disability, whatever the reason- they may appreciate your assistance. Raking your neighbor’s leaves is a great way to spread the holiday spirit.

Cheer on your local sports team

What better way to get to know your community members than cheering on your favorite sports team together!  You don’t even need to know a player to support your community. Just throw on the team colors and head to a game this Friday night. What better way to get to know your community members than cheering on your favorite sports team together!

Donate to local food bank

When we think Thanksgiving feast, we think green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and of course the turkey! But, there are many people who don’t get the chance to enjoy a warm delicious meal like this. Spread the Thanksgiving spirit by donating non-perishable food to food banks or invite a neighbor over to share your bounty.

Give away old sweaters and blankets

Cooler temperatures mean it’s time to break out those big sweaters and cozy blankets. But not all of us are lucky enough to have these wintry weather essentials to keep us warm. Donate any gently used or unwanted blankets, sweaters and coats to those in need.

Bring a pie to a neighbor

Fall is just not fall without fresh baked goods. Whether your favorite is pumpkin pie or apple cider bars, there’s nothing like a warm fall dessert on a cool autumn’s day. Help bring joy to your neighbor by sharing your favorite holiday treat with them.

Tell someone thank you

This simple two word phrase is extremely underused. Sometime we get caught up in all the chaos of the holidays and forget what this season is really about. Whether you say it to the mailman, a police officer or even a neighbor, telling someone “thank you” can have more of an impact than any of these other gestures.

From our TRICOR family to your, wishing you a happy holiday season!
